The Annual Celebration Breakdown
Your family is important. Your work is important. You are important.
And it is vital to remember that last one. We would like to invite you to be a part of an event that will remind you of that.
On June 6, 2014, The Lucy Hobbs Project will host its second annual celebration in Orlando, FL at the Omni Championsgate Resort. If you need more persuading than sunny Orlando, keep reading. This one-day event will include (3) 1-credit CE courses, presentation of The Lucy Hobbs Project Awards, keynote speaker Liz Murray, and lunch! Not yet convinced? IT’S FREE.
Alright, I think I have your attention.
Your day will begin with our panel of award winners sharing their inspirational stories that ultimately crowned them victorious. These women have faced challenges of various sorts and despite it all (or maybe because of it all), have become successful, passionate leaders in dentistry. Beware: their energy radiates and is highly contagious.
Following these motivational presentations, you’ll head to your first CE course focusing on “Your Finances”. In this course, you’ll hear from Teresa Gast, CPA as she explains the ins and outs of managing and adjusting your financial plan to accommodate both expected and unexpected life events unique to females in the industry.
Then, we feast. Relax and enjoy your delicious meal while networking with other event attendees. Listen to others’ stories and share your own. We all have something to give and we all have something learn; this is your chance to do both!
Following lunch, we will invite Smiles For Success to the stage. We’ll hear from Jennifer Cornell, President, about how the funds raised by our Give Back Raffle will benefit women across the country who lack access to proper dental care.
The good feelings continue when you’ll hear from our keynote speaker, Liz Murray. Liz’s story of “Homeless to Harvard” is incredibly motivating; you’ll feel hungry for more even though you just ate lunch. Taken from her bio, “Liz Murray’s life is a triumph over adversity and a stunning example of the importance of dreaming big.” Well, we could not have said it better ourselves.
Next, you’ll attend the second CE course, “Projecting the Future of Dentistry” presented by Dr. Eric Solomon. Dr. Solomon will explain the latest trends in dentistry and how they may affect you and your practice. Focus points will include demographic shifts, dental school enrollment, and trends in dental disease.
Before we close out the day, you’ll have the opportunity to hear from social media expert, Crystal Washington. Crystal is best known for taking complex web and social media concepts and breaking them down for small business owners. She’ll cover tools to discover potential clients, understanding the best networks to use for building relationships and how to maximize the powerful prospecting features available to you.
The purpose of our celebration is to bring the brightest female minds in dentistry together and see what kind of brilliance evolves. We’re pretty sure great things are going to happen. Give yourself something to look forward to! It’s healthy to step out of the office to give yourself a chance to grow both professionally and personally.
With so many exciting parts of our agenda, it’s difficult to pinpoint what I find most exciting. But, if I were forced to choose, I would have to say I am most looking forward to hear from our award winners. There’s something so refreshing about listening to someone who has “been there and done that.” New perspectives are always a good thing!
